    Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - The Central Bank of Iraq said today, Sunday, that the dollar exchange rate against the local currency is "stable", indicating that there are no intentions to change it.
    This came after rumors spread widely, and talked about the existence of efforts to reduce the price of the dollar, which resulted in fluctuation in the exchange rate.
    The bank said on its website that there are "no intentions to change the current exchange rate, especially after the positive results it achieved during the past period."
    The bank called on citizens "not to deal with news that indicates the possibility of a price change," and said that it possesses sufficient foreign reserves to stabilize the current exchange rate.
    Earlier in the day, the Iraqi Ministry of Finance announced the reasons that prompted the state about a year ago to reduce the value of the dinar against the dollar. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] .
    The Central Bank had previously said that any unplanned change in the dollar's exchange rate would lead to economic stagnation and confuse local markets.
