Earth News/ Military reinforcements arrived today, Monday, at Tarifawi, to secure the "Iraq-Syrian" border.
A military source said, in an interview with Earth News, that "military reinforcements, including an infantry regiment of the army, arrived in the Tarifawi area near the Sajar area, or the so-called border separating the borders of Anbar Governorate and Nineveh."
The source added, "The reinforcements came in a step aimed at controlling the border strip with Syria to prevent cases of infiltration of ISIS terrorist elements towards the western regions."
The source pointed out that "the step also comes within the strict security measures to control the border strip from the Qaim border crossing with Syria, west of Anbar, to the borders of Nineveh Governorate, to secure the desert areas to prevent any security breach."
