Hoshyar Zebari after the Federal Court's decision to exclude him from the race for the presidency of Iraq (Reuters)

Hoshyar Zebari, the former Iraqi foreign minister and a hot candidate for the presidency of Iraq, was not satisfied with blaming the Iraqi judiciary for taking him out of the competition for the first sovereign position (the presidency); In his speech to reporters, he considered the Federal Court ruling to prevent him from running as "politicised and premeditated." While the ruling he issued against Al-Ittihadiya with “politicization and overnighting” seemed harsh, from the point of view of legal experts, Zebari (a leader in the Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Massoud Barzani) went further in adding new charges to the judiciary in Iraq during the article he published in Asharq Al-Awsat.
Today, the alternative "Democratic" candidate, Riber Ahmed Barzani, is awaiting the "Federal Union" ruling regarding his candidacy for the post of President of the Republic. Yesterday, Zebari opened fire again on the Federal Court and told BBC Arabic that some of the judges, who are 9 judges (the quorum of the Federal Court), were Baathists and included in the eradication, but they were excluded. More seriously, some of them, according to Zebari, were Sunnis and then converted to Shi'ism. In addition to the charges that he missed, he charged them with the most serious charge. And it is that “those who installed them in their current positions are militia forces.”
While the "Federal" did not issue any position on Zebari's statements, according to prevailing customs, the Federal Supreme Court does not enter into political debates and does not interfere in any political context unless it is asked to interpret the articles of the constitution or resolve related disputes. and in accordance with the law; The ruling that is expected to be issued today, Wednesday, is not related, unlike its predecessor, to the new candidate for the presidency of the republic as much as it is related to the decision of the presidency of Parliament, as it is not concerned with the candidates and their numbers as much as it is concerned with the constitutional terms governing everyone.
Although the opponents of the "Kurdistan Democratic Party" expanded the scope of the attack on Zebari and his party by transmitting the video clip in which he attacks the judges of the Federal Court during the meeting, the "democratic" remained silent about Zebari's statements. Compared to the sharp attack on Zebari and the party by many Shiite parties and political and legal forces, the leaders of the "democracy", and not its official spokesman, defended Zebari or apologized on his behalf. At the same time, the "Federalism" also remained silent, although some accusations, such as belonging to the "Baath" or changing the sect, seem personal, which requires refute or clarification.
In the same context, the "Supreme Judicial Council", which is the highest judicial authority in Iraq, did not issue any position regarding Zebari's accusations. The final decision that will determine many future tracks remains the decision that is expected to be issued today regarding reopening the contested presidential nomination door.
Regardless of whether the decision ensures that the alternative candidate for Zebari remains viable or disqualifies him, the difficulty lies in the possibility of achieving either party; The “democratic” or “national” won the presidency by achieving a two-thirds majority. Most importantly, if the Democratic Party has no candidate left; No one in the Iraqi political center can anticipate the next step for Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani.
