    On Monday, the Border Ports Authority announced the details of the second meeting of the Customs and Border Ports Automation Team.

    And the authority stated in a statement that Nass received a copy of it (February 28, 2022), that "the team of the customs and border crossings project automation held its second meeting for the year 2022, headed by Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, with the participation of all team members via the closed electronic circuit."   
      
    According to the statement, "the agenda was discussed, which included the following topics:   
      
    - Activating the customs and tax receipt audit program.  
    - The electronic link of the exemptions program between the Border Ports Authority and the General Directorate of Industrial Development.  
    - Assigning the General Authority of Customs to submit a written paper on the latest developments in the Escuada contract concluded between the General Authority of Customs and UNCTAD.   
      
    He added that "the head of the authority presented the latest developments achieved by the team, which had a major role in facilitating trade and preventing counterfeiting operations through the directing of a joint committee from (ports, customs and tax) to set up a program for auditing customs and tax receipts, as the first leg of the process of installing the program was at an outlet Al-Mandhiriya and the second will be at Baghdad International Airport, and accordingly to the rest of the ports.   
      
    The authority indicated that "the team also worked on implementing an electronic program to control and control the exempted materials in coordination with the General Directorate of Industrial Development."   
      
    In conclusion, "all members of the team expressed their full readiness to provide the best and most sincere efforts to implement the directives of the Diwaniyah Order Committee 22 of the year 2020 on e-governance."
