    On Monday, the Independent High Electoral Commission issued directives to ensure the participation of voters in the upcoming elections, while indicating the formation of technical committees to examine electoral electronic devices.

    The commission said in a statement that “Nass” received a copy of it (February 28, 2022), that “it is an endeavor from the Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners to the participation of all voters, whether inside or outside Iraq (especially voters abroad, whose repercussions of the epidemic and others prevented their participation in the previous parliamentary elections). The Council of Commissioners directed the creation of a website targeting voters abroad to know their numbers and whereabouts, to benefit from it in developing an appropriate plan for their biometric registration to ensure their right to vote in the next electoral event.  
      
    And she added, "The head of the electoral administration directed all the electoral district offices to prepare an electronic inventory of the biometric voter cards for special voting and send them to the offices according to the voter's ownership for the purpose of directing the distribution process through the (1079) registration centers spread throughout Iraq."  
      
    And she continued: "In order to preserve the electoral electronic devices, the Electoral Commission has formed technical committees to support the warehouse custodians, whose responsibility is to conduct the inspection, shipping and maintenance process to ensure their durability and address any defects that the devices may encounter. transmission".  
      
    She pointed out that "the Board of Commissioners agreed to open the ballot boxes, inventory and sort their contents of sensitive and non-sensitive materials, and also set up a mechanism to destroy electronically preserved ballot papers in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals / General Company for Petrochemical Industries to benefit from and recycle."  
      
    And she continued, "With regard to polling officials, the Electoral Commission began distributing the biometric cards withdrawn from them on the polling day for the purpose of handing them their prescribed financial rewards, as the rewards of the polling staff of the Najaf and Muthanna electoral offices are currently being distributed through the distribution outlets in the state treasury in the province, and the financial treasuries in the rest of the provinces will be established. By the same mechanism, after completing all the administrative and legal requirements related to the work of the Commission.  
      
    She explained, "With regard to the continuity of institutional communication, the Electoral Commission is working through electoral offices to build bridges of cooperation with state institutions related to its electoral work in preparation for the upcoming electoral benefits."  
      
    She pointed out that "in cooperation with the International Agency for Electoral Systems (IFES), the Electoral Commission is holding a workshop on the lessons learned, discussing several axes, namely: the voter register and voter card, rehabilitation and programming of electoral devices, electoral security, media and mass communication, parties and candidate affairs, complaints and appeals.
