     Baghdad :

Yesterday, Monday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed the need to adhere to the constitutional timings in forming the government.
A presidential statement stated, "Saleh received the head of the European Union Election Observation Mission, Viola von Cramon, on the occasion of the end of the mission's work."
Salih stressed, according to the statement, "the necessity of meeting the national entitlements, joining hands and adhering to the constitutional timings in forming a capable and effective government that protects the interests of the country and enhances sovereignty, protecting and serving the Iraqis and achieving the necessary reforms for a stable and prosperous Iraq."
For her part, Karamon reviewed “the final report prepared by the European Union mission on the monitoring of the elections,” praising “the efforts of the Iraqi authorities in making the elections a success, stressing the EU’s commitment to continue supporting Iraq.”
In addition, the President of the Republic directed to withdraw the two Republican decrees No. (1 and 2), during an urgent meeting with the investigative committee formed in the Presidency of the Republic about them.
A statement by the President’s Media Office stated that Saleh “directed the judicial authorities to take the necessary measures after withdrawing the two republican decrees, and to address the Ministries of Justice and Interior to arrest the convicts and place them in correctional institutions.”
He also directed the investigative committee formed to complete its work as soon as possible and present the results of the investigation to identify the negligent people, hold them accountable and ensure that they are not repeated in the future.
The President of the Republic stressed that he will not be lenient in facing the dangerous challenge of drug promotion, trafficking and convicts, and he will never hesitate to correct what may be tainted by presidential decrees or orders of abuse or legal violations as long as they will contribute to the security and stability of society.
