Member of Parliament Basem Khashan confirmed today, Tuesday, that hosting Finance Minister Ali Allawi yesterday in Parliament will not have an impact on changing the dollar exchange rate.
Khashan said, in an interview with "Al-Nabaa Agency", that "hosting Finance Minister Ali Allawi, yesterday, in Parliament will not have an impact on changing the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, especially since determining the exchange rate is not within the authority of Parliament and blocs, but rather it is from The authority of the Council of Ministers, and this matter is done through the budget law.”
And he indicated that "the Minister of Finance, stressed the difficulty of changing the exchange rate in the near future, and for this reason, hosting Allawi, has no effect on the exchange rate, but rather it came in order for the minister to provide some clarifications, and this is what has been done. The new government has the right to change the exchange rate or to keep it as it is now."
