Dubai Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched today, Monday, the first operational phase of the "Digital School" project, during a special event held at "Expo 2020 Dubai". The initiative
aims to provide learning opportunities for refugees and displaced persons. and students in less fortunate areas in different countries around the world, as well as students who face difficulty enrolling in regular schools.
The first operational phase of the "Digital School" project includes 5 countries: Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Mauritania and Colombia.
It is estimated that more than 20,000 students will benefit from the "digital school" in its first year, as part of a vision that seeks to double the number of students to reach one million students affiliated with the school within 5 years, according to what Mohammed bin Rashid explained through his account on Twitter.
The "Digital School" is the first integrated digital school that provides distance education in a smart and flexible way. It also provides digital study and enrichment materials that are compatible with Arab and international curricula, as well as an opportunity to interact with a number of licensed teachers and their colleagues through virtual classrooms, and provides an evaluation mechanism. Smart helps students to self-learn, acquire knowledge and skills and obtain accredited certificates.
The "Digital School" provides digital educational lessons in mathematics, science, Arabic, computer, and others, primarily in three languages: Arabic, French and Spanish.
The "Digital School" launched by the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, includes 120 digital learning centers, 500 teachers in its first phase, and partnerships with 30 international organizations.
