The mayor of Al-Qaim, Ahmed Al-Mahlawi, announced, on Thursday, the completion of exploration operations for oil and gas fields in the first region of western Anbar.
Al-Mahlawi said in a statement to the news agency, "The Oil Exploration Company, one of the formations of the Ministry of Oil, has completed exploration operations for oil and gas fields in the Qaim district, west of Anbar," noting that "the operations resulted in the discovery of many oil and gas fields, as well as the discovery of areas rich in minerals. and phosphates.
He added, "The areas targeted by the Oil Exploration Company indicated the presence of huge quantities of gas, as well as the presence of oil fields not listed by the Ministry of Oil."
He pointed out that "the Oil Exploration Company moved to other sites in Haditha district, west of Anbar, after completing the exploration operations in the areas of Al-Qaim district completely without any obstacles."
It is noteworthy that the exploration operations for oil and gas fields witnessed the discovery of 12 vital industrial sites in the western regions.
