, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili, confirmed, on Monday, the parliament's intention to legislate a law to support the poor classes, while vowing to hold price-manipulating merchants accountable.
Al-Zamili said in a joint press conference with the Minister of Commerce Alaa Al-Jubouri, "We have confidence in providing two rations of foodstuffs before the month of Ramadan," noting that the Ministry of Commerce "confirmed the distribution of the ration card items on a monthly basis."
He added, "The Law to Support the Poor Classes will be legislated by Parliament," noting that "Finance pledged to increase the allocations of the Ministry of Commerce, and from tomorrow, trade will begin processing the ration card items."
Al-Zamili added, "Manipulating the citizen's power is targeting the country, and we will personally supervise the monitoring of the market, and the price-manipulating merchants will be held accountable." Ended 29/N33
