The Trio puts the final touches to the formation of the government and the coordination: We will reveal our dialogues with the Sadrists

Baghdad / Tamim Al-Hassan
The "triple alliance" has intensified its dialogues during the last 48 hours, while it is expected that this March will bring the curtain down on the last chapters of the political crisis that has been going on for nearly five months. Yesterday, Sunday, the House of Representatives announced the opening of the nomination door again for the post of President of the Republic for one time only and not to renew it.
And disrupted a series of decisions and interpretations issued by the Federal Court, the highest judicial authority in the country, the formation of the government at least two months from its previous dates.
The coalition, which includes the Sadrist movement, Sunni forces and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, is close to securing the two-thirds majority needed to elect the president of the republic.
According to Article 76 of the Constitution, the President of the Republic (after his election) assigns the candidate of the largest bloc to form a government.
On the other hand, the Shiite coordination framework is not sure of its next steps, at a time when the story of the “blocking third” declined after the last parliament session.
And the voting numbers in the parliament session - which was devoted to reopening the candidacy for the position of President of the Republic for a third time - showed the approach of the "triple alliance" to form the government.
intense encounters
According to information received by the (range), "the tripartite alliance intensified its dialogues since last Saturday, to put the final touches on the formation of the government."
The coalition appeared to control about 60 percent of the parliament's seats in the parliament's opening session last January, and was able to pass its candidate, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and his two deputies to the parliament's presidency.
The information coming from the political corridors adds that the coalition is "very close to obtaining 220 or more seats to vote on the President of the Republic in the next session."
The "trio" repeated the scene of cohesion between its parties in the last session of Parliament, which was held on Saturday, in which the Council approved the reopening of the nomination for the position of President of the Republic for the third time.
The information confirms that all the formations of the tripartite alliance are "supportive of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's candidate, Reber Ahmed," who was nominated as a replacement for Hoshyar Zebari after he was excluded from the competition.
Yesterday, the Triple Alliance stated in a statement that "the Sadrist bloc, the Sovereignty Alliance and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (the Triple Alliance) held a meeting in Baghdad."
And last Saturday, a statement was issued by the office of Al-Halbousi, Speaker of Parliament, confirming that he had received the delegation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party headed by Fadel Mirani.
The two sides discussed the "developments of the political situation in the country," according to the statement, which clarified that they discussed "the next stage, and stress the need to complete the constitutional dues."
The coalition has been working for weeks, behind the scenes, to gain and increase the number of its seats, as it is expected that it will move against the "neutral" category in the parliament.
The number of seats in the forces that have not formally announced their position towards either of the two sides of the rivalry (the current or the coordination) is estimated at 46.
According to the figures that appeared in the last session, which was held last Saturday, the hypothesis of the “three-party” investigation strengthened a two-thirds majority in the event that the “neutral” team was tempted to side with it.
And the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives stated in a statement yesterday, “The House of Representatives decided, in its third session of the first legislative term of the first legislative year, to open the nomination for the post of President of the Republic for one time only and not to renew it.”
Last Saturday, the House of Representatives opened the door for candidacy for the position of President of the Republic, starting tomorrow, yesterday (Sunday) for a period of three days.
According to observers, the last session gave strength to the tripartite alliance, which appeared close to achieving a two-thirds majority.
And 203 parliamentarians out of 265 who were present in the session out of 329 total seats in Parliament voted to open the door for candidacy for a third time for the presidency.
According to the interpretation of the Federal Court last month, the voting session for the presidency of the republic needs a two-thirds majority (220 votes at least).
On the other hand, the coordinating framework appeared to have less than half of the number of seats that it was advertised holding.
In Saturday's session, only 62 parliamentarians abstained from voting on the decision out of the audience, and this was considered, according to observers, the size of the "coordinating party".
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, which is seen as an ally of the "Coordination", had announced its boycott of the last session.
To preserve civil peace
The coordination framework justified the presence of this number by saying that there was no directive from the bloc to abstain from voting.
Mahmoud al-Hayani, a member of the Coordination Council, said that his coalition "attended the last session because it wanted not to disrupt the electoral benefits, and a message to preserve civil peace."
The "Coordination" audience had protested at the gates of the Green Zone for about a month, objecting to the election results, which showed the Sadrist movement's superiority of 72 seats, before the Federal Court approved, at the end of last year, the election results.
Al-Hayani revealed, in connection with (Al-Mada), that "the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement have contacts" despite the movement's leader Muqtada al-Sadr's decision to "freeze the negotiations since last month."
The Coordination member stressed that "the results of these contacts will be revealed soon, and they are in the direction of unifying the Shiite forces."
Al-Sadr announced last month that he rejects the presence of Nuri al-Maliki, the former prime minister, in the next government, while welcoming the rest of the parties to the coordination framework.
And the "Coordination" held a meeting on Saturday evening, at the same time as a meeting of parties from the Triple Alliance in Baghdad.
Al-Hayani confirmed that "the meeting was held at the home of former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and discussed what happened in the last parliament session," without revealing other details about the meeting.
The member of the "Coordination" added that his alliance, despite losing the last round of parliament session, "but (the coordination) will not let the tripartite alliance pass its candidate for the presidency of the republic."
Al-Hayani stressed that the coordinating framework "has not taken a final decision so far to attend the presidential elections session," which is expected to be decided within the next two weeks.
