The Arab League has chosen, on Wednesday, Iraq's candidate, Abdul-Hussein Al-Hindawi, for the position of Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs nominated Al-Hindawi for the position, according to a document issued by it, which indicated that the Arab department in the ministry submitted the biography of Abdul-Hussein Yaqoub Al-Hindawi, to the permanent delegation of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo, for the purpose of his candidacy for the position of Assistant Secretary-General in the League of Arab States.
Al-Hindawi held a number of positions, most notably: Adviser to the Prime Minister in Iraq from May 2020 until now, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Iraq for four years between 2015 and 2018, and Senior International Adviser to the United Nations in Iraq for seven years between 2008 and 2015, and a member of the United Nations Human Rights Organization mission He traveled to Haiti for three years between 1993 and 1995, and has more than ten published intellectual books.
