    During his visit to Lebanon, Minister of Industry Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz discussed activating the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries for cooperation in the industrial, food and pharmaceutical fields, transferring expertise and developing industrial cities.
    The Director of the Industrial Cities Authority in the Ministry of Industry, Hamid Awad Muhammad Al-Issawi, said in a statement seen by (the information), that “a delegation headed by the Minister of Industry, which included a number of general managers, recently visited Lebanon under the guidance of the Prime Minister to discuss activating the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides for cooperation and partnership in Industrial, food and pharmaceutical fields, as well as transfer of expertise and benefit from investment opportunities.
    Al-Issawi pointed to “deliberation with the Lebanese side on the issue of the possibility of developing industrial cities in various governorates, and benefiting from the privileges of the joint economic city between Iraq and Jordan, and the entry of Lebanese industrialists and investors into the city.”
    He added, "During the visit, the delegation met with the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun, a number of officials in the Lebanese government, the ambassadors of the two countries, and members of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, and they were briefed on the capabilities of the Pharmaline factory for the pharmaceutical industry and the possibility of transferring pharmaceutical technology to Iraq, and supplying medicines between the two countries." And access to the possibility of production lines and research, and the types of models that will be exported to Iraq, as well as the industrial partnership for laboratories and examinations.
    He continued, "The memorandum of understanding between the two countries includes the establishment of a base of trainers in Iraq according to the specializations it needs for the purpose of transferring expertise by laying foundations in the fields of design, modern marketing, packaging and modern programs in the aspects of engineering, printing and trademarks."
    Al-Issawi stated that “the visit also witnessed a visit to the Industrial Research Institute building in the Lebanese University complex to see scientific and research activities, to work in twinning with the Lebanese side to benefit from the capabilities and expertise available to them in various fields, especially with regard to preparing research, providing scientific advice and various other services.”
    And to the official in the Ministry of Industry, that “the industrial cities projects in Iraq as they are integrated cities ready for investment and the possibility of entry for Lebanese developers and industrialists in accordance with the laws in force, in addition to the great investment opportunities offered to the ministry’s companies in various industries, especially agricultural industries that are related to food security.” finished/25
