[size=45]Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to build four new dams in Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk, in coordination with PowerChina.[/size]
[size=45]The Minister of Agriculture, Bijard Talabani, said in a statement that "an understanding to build four dams has been signed," noting that "the projects will be carried out in coordination with the international group of Power China companies."[/size]
[size=45]Talabani indicated that the dams are "Dalga Dam in the borders of Bashdr District, Khyota Dam in Sulaymaniyah, Mandawa Dam in Erbil and Bakrman Dam in Dohuk."[/size]
[size=45]Talabani noted that "this understanding comes within the framework of the continuous efforts of the regional government, the Ministry of Agriculture and water sources to reduce the effects of drought and water storage and improve the strategic management of water resources in the Kurdistan Region."[/size]
