    The Ministry of Industry and Minerals is discussing with the German Cooperation the possibility of establishing a center for setting industrial policies between the Ministry and the Iraqi Federation of Industries

    The Ministry of Industry and Minerals discussed the possibility of establishing a center for setting industrial policies between the ministry and the Iraqi Federation of Industries.
    This came during the meeting, which was held today, Thursday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of the Director General of the Department of Industrial Development and Organization, Mr. Alaa Mousa, the President of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Mr. Adel Akab, the Deputy Director of the Department of Industrial Development and Organization, a number of officials and stakeholders in the Ministry, the General Directorate of Industrial Development and the delegation of the German Cooperation Organization. They discussed ways to develop the industrial sector and work on developing economic policies and improving employment opportunities in the country through cooperation between the public and private sectors, capacity development, technical consultations, and support for industrial policy-making processes provided by the organization.

    The Director General of the Department of Industrial Development and Organization stressed the need for projects to be based on modern and advanced technology, relying on clean, environmentally friendly energy, and using tools and intellectual property mechanisms to develop the reality of the industry, noting that the Industrial Development and Organization Department, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Industrial Development, trained and developed capabilities Iraqi university students and preparing them to work in the industrial sector by establishing projects and providing them with job opportunities.

    In turn, the head of the Iraqi Federation of Industries indicated that the private sector is a key partner in the formulation of industrial policies, calling for working as a team to develop the industrial reality and reach the desired goals by forming joint bonds between all parties.

    While the delegation of the German Cooperation Organization stressed the necessity of continuing the meetings to achieve common goals and working to establish workshops involving all parties to make this project a success through international experts to facilitate the work environment.
