    Attention is still directed to the two Kurdish parties regarding the agreement on the candidate for the presidency, which has not yet been resolved, despite the fact that there are days left for the parliament session.

    The KDP denies the existence of any compromise or agreement with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
    So far, there is no rapprochement between the PUK and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, according to the member of the latter, Majid Shankali, who also emphasizes the absence of "any form of compromise."

    Shankali said to the official agency and followed by "Ultra Iraq", "The closest scenario is to go with a candidate from each party, and this is a repetition of the 2018 scenario, but in a different format."
    He pointed out that "the Kurdistan Democratic Party's candidate, Reber Ahmed, is the closest to being president of the republic."
    There is only a week left for the parliament session, which will be held next Saturday, March 26th. 
    For her part, the representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Suzan Mansour, said, "All political blocs are preparing for the parliament session on the 26th of this month, and despite the difficulty of completing alliances, they are moving forward and we hope that the session will proceed with the election of a president."
    She stressed that "the National Union is still sticking to its only candidate (Barham Muhammad Salih) because his selection was on the basis of the national space and was not on partisan and nationalist backgrounds," noting that "the National Union does not have an alliance with one of the blocs, but there is rapprochement and understanding with everyone."
