, the Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Sunday, that it has carried out seizures in a number of departments in Diwaniyah, noting that cases of "wasting public money, extortion and bribery" were seized in those departments.
The Commission's Investigation Department said, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "the staff of the Commission's investigation office in Diwaniyah, which was transferred to the Diwaniyah Municipality Directorate, investigated and collected evidence regarding the fact that the head and members of the Procurement Committee in the directorate purchased gas from fake offices with receipts." Forged, although the instructions require processing from government websites.”
The department added, "The operation resulted in the arrest of 8 accused, who are the head and members of the Procurement Committee in the Municipality Directorate in the governorate," noting that "the amount spent to purchase gas with these fake receipts amounted to (579,000,000) million dinars."
And she continued, "The office's staff carried out a seizure operation in Al-Rafidain Bank - the right side in Diwaniyah, during which I was able to seize an instrument belonging to the section for people with special needs in the governorate, which was disbursed against the law."
And she explained, "In a third operation, an employee claiming to work in the Oil Pipelines Company - Diwaniyah branch was arrested for defrauding citizens and deceiving them of being appointed to state departments in exchange for payment of sums of money to her."
And it indicated, "The staff of the commission's investigation office in the governorate carried out a fourth seizure in the Diwaniyah Retirement Authority, which resulted in the seizure of a pension file according to which pension rights amounted to (19) million dinars were received in the form of pension salaries, based on a forged medical report."
And the circuit pointed out, "to organize seizure records of the executed operations, based on judicial notes, and presented them, together with the accused, to the Diwaniyah Court judge specialized in integrity issues, who decided to arrest the accused in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) and Resolution (160 of 1983)."
