The Border Ports Authority announced, today, Tuesday, that it monitored 299 violations of the controls during the month of February.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the authority's spokesman, Alaa El-Din Al-Qaisi, said, "The Border Ports Authority, through its efforts of supervising, controlling, following-up and scrutinizing the work of the working departments, all goods and travelers arriving in the country, and in coordinating work and exchanging information with the security services and the operating authorities, was able to located at our border crossings, where all forms of corruption and smuggling attempts were confronted and thwarted."
He added, "The results and statistics achieved during the month of February (299) included (seizure of drugs and materials in violation of import terms and controls, forged customs transactions, the arrest of wanted persons, the seizure and destruction of medical supplies and packaging, foodstuffs, and agricultural crops, and the re-issue of materials proven to have failed in the test of the Central Organization for Measurement and Control).
