Minister Wael Abdul Latif affirmed, on Tuesday, that Iraq has legal eligibility to claim compensation from the Gulf countries that contributed and funded the US invasion of Iraq, indicating that the US court granted US forces immunity for its forces without legal rights.

. Abdul Latif said in a statement to "Al-Maalouma", that "Iraq can demand compensation from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE for financing the American invasion of Iraq and giving it the opportunity to use its lands."
He added that "the American invasion caused economic disasters that are double what Saddam committed during his occupation of Kuwait, which received more than 58 billion dollars," calling on the Iraqi government to "demand Saudi Arabia to pay the bill for destroying the country."
Abdul Latif explained that "the American side fortified itself from legal accountability and granted its soldiers immunity, but those allied with it could be held accountable and demand compensation for the damage inflicted on Iraq and its infrastructure." End / 25 D
