Earth News/ The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath al-Sorji, clarified today, Thursday, his party's position on the presidential election session.
Al-Sorji told "Earth News" that "so far, he has not issued a statement or decision from the leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to participate or not in a session on Saturday regarding the nomination of the President of the Republic.
He added, "I believe that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will boycott the session, and we will be in the blocking third with the coordinating framework and some political blocs and independent representatives."
He continued, "We have more than 110 deputies, and with this number, the blocking third will be comfortably completed."
It is noteworthy that the head of the Sadrist bloc, Hassan al-Adari, had announced, yesterday, Wednesday, the formation of the "Save the Homeland" coalition, which includes the Sadrist bloc, the Sovereignty Alliance and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, considering it the most numerous, while stressing that the new alliance nominated Reber Ahmed for the presidency and Muhammad Jaafar al-Sadr for prime minister. .
The House of Representatives is scheduled to hold its session to choose a president of the republic on Saturday, the 26th of this month, while the political forces continue their moves in order to end the file of choosing the president of the republic, start the file of the prime minister, and complete the constitutional entitlements.
