[size=45]Today, Thursday, the Basra Investment Authority announced the details of the economic city, while specifying its location and the area on which it will be built.[/size]
[size=45]The head of the authority, Alaa Abdul-Hussein, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Basra Economic City for logistical and economic services will be located in the south of Basra Governorate in the area affiliated with Al-Zubair district, near Khor Al-Zubair, that is, within the northern Al-Najm and Al-Najm regions, and it will be established on an area of 1,000 dunams.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, "The authority's work plan for the current year will focus on the industrial sector, due to the geographical and economic location of Basra Governorate," noting that "the procedures for establishing the economic city are under implementation, as we obtained several approvals and in full coordination with the local government in Basra Governorate to accomplish the largest economic city." In Basra, which will include, in addition to economic factories and factories, it will include the establishment of a plant to produce hydrochloric acid, which has an active and essential role in extracting crude oil and raising the production capacity of oil wells, in addition to the largest iron and steel plant.[/size]
