On Friday, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, addressed those who demand that the largest coalition be "Shiite", indicating that what is known as the "guarantor third" is not purely Shiite, while he demanded that the two sides remain "patriotic".
Al-Sadr said in a tweet he posted on Twitter, "If one-third of you are purely Shiite, then demand that the largest coalition be purely Shiite."
Al-Sadr added in his tweet, "What are you doing, or else (a third of you who is nationally disabled) and our national alliance should remain."
The Sadrist bloc, one of the poles of the tripartite alliance that recently formed a coalition entitled “Save the Nation,” will enter the parliament session tomorrow, which is scheduled to elect a president of the republic, in front of the Shiite coordination framework and its allies who make up what is known as the “guarantor third,” according to the leaders of the framework, while he announced, “Salvation Watan” for his candidate for the presidency, Riber Ahmed from the Kurdistan Democratic Party, while Jaafar Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr was nominated as prime minister.
At the beginning of last February, the Iraqi parliament failed to elect a new president for Iraq after most of the parliamentary blocs boycotted the session due to differences over this position and over naming the largest bloc that would result in the formation of the next federal government.
