Baghdad has expressed its willingness to activate memoranda of understanding with Cairo in the fields of drug manufacturing, and the two countries’ reception of critical cases of patients for treatment in the hospitals of the two brotherly countries, as well as cooperation in the field of training doctors.
Health Minister Hani Al-Aqabi said, in a statement reported by the newspaper "Al-Sabah" and seen by "The Information", that "the Iraqi-Egyptian committee is moving forward in implementing the terms of the agreement in the health field," revealing that "a medical delegation consisting of 10 professors from medical colleges in Egypt visited this week." He will head to Baghdad to see the training centers approved by the Egyptian side that grant the Egyptian medical fellowship.
Al-Uqabi added, on the sidelines of his participation in the meeting of Arab health ministers held in Cairo yesterday, that the most important item discussed in the council for the first time is the establishment of an Arab medical research center, indicating that Iraq announced its support for this edifice.
He pointed out that "the discussions also included the issue of the Food and Drug Authority," explaining that "Iraq has been preparing the Food and Drug Authority law for more than 5 years so that we can eliminate the drug chaos, whether in the import or some issues related to medicine in order to be available and secure for the Iraqi citizen." . finished/25
