Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah congratulated Muhammad Salih Al-Muhanna on his election as president of the Iraqi Bar Association, while stressing the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the legislative institution and the Iraqi Bar Association.
A statement by the Office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, received by Mawazine News, stated, "The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, sent a congratulatory message to Muhammad Salih Al-Muhanna on the occasion of his victory as president of the Iraqi Bar Association, during the elections that took place at the union's headquarters and under the supervision of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Judicial Committee formed for the elections. His Excellency also congratulated the new members of the Syndicate Council, wishing them success in defending rights and spreading a culture of justice and law in our democratic system.
Abdullah praised the integrity and transparency of the electoral process that took place through the ballot boxes, calling for the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the legislative institution and the Iraqi Bar Association to lay the foundations, values and principles of the state of citizenship and to impose the rule of law in line with the requirements and challenges of the next stage.
