Yesterday, Sunday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi called for accelerating the formation of the government, stressing the need to respect the constitutional timings, and advising the political forces to re-calculate in order to overcome the current crisis.
Al-Kazemi said during the conference held on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the legislation of the Survivors’ Law, that “the crime committed against the Yazidi women will remain a major disgrace in the history of ISIS terrorist gangs, and all the obscurantist groups that claim that they rule with ideas that are out of date, which is evidence of the danger of their abolitionist ideology. Therefore, we must work to prevent a recurrence of what happened.”
He stressed the importance of "working together to prevent a recurrence of what happened, and this is only possible through good governance, and for the government to look for opportunities to build development so that there is no foothold for these terrorist groups."
He pointed out, "This crime was a challenge to the global humanitarian situation, and not only in Iraq, as there was sympathy and global human interaction with the tragedy of this crime."
Al-Kazemi stressed, "The government and its security services are continuing their operations against everyone who participated in this crime, and we have succeeded in reaching large groups of these criminals; Now some of them are in prisons and others have been sentenced, and the government has taken it upon itself to prosecute and hold accountable all those who tried to underestimate Iraqi blood, wherever they are, inside or outside Iraq.”
He called for "developing all efforts and working to accomplish the issue of the survivors, and the state needs additional legislation to protect the survivors and prevent a recurrence of what happened."
Al-Kazemi called on "all political forces to work and form a government that works as quickly as possible to serve its people, including the Yazidi survivors," noting that "respect for constitutional timings is respect for the constitution, respect for the logic of the state, and respect for people's needs."
He spoke of the need to search for "logical solutions that reflect the political maturity of everyone, and reflect a high degree of responsibility of the political forces regarding their duties in parliament or outside parliament."
Al-Kazemi stated that “the political forces are required to recalculate in order to cross this stage, today there is a global crisis, which is reflected in every part of the world, and in addition to this crisis, our region has enough complex and intertwined crises.”
He added, "This government stands and bears responsibilities, but this is not logical or realistic. The current crisis is political, and political breakthrough means a government breakthrough, and therefore the need to form an effective productive government that serves the citizen under these circumstances, and to build security and food security."
Al-Kazemi went on to say, “I say to the national political forces, that the citizen is our responsibility, the homeland is our responsibility, we have enough divisions, we have to work for the country and move to a new stage for the future of Iraq.”
