    Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein met with the US special envoy for Iran, Robert Malley, today, Monday, on the sidelines of his participation in the 20th Doha Forum.
    A Foreign Ministry statement said, "During the meeting, they discussed the political and security developments in the region and their repercussions, the reality of US-Iranian relations, and ways to activate the exploratory dialogues that took place previously, and they touched upon the ongoing negotiations in Vienna and the five countries + one."
    The minister stressed the "importance of enhancing stability and introducing coordination opportunities and mechanisms, especially since Iraq follows the principle of de-escalation and the consequent interests of all parties, and what is reflected on security and peace in the neighborhood of Iraq and the region."

    For his part, Robert Malley confirmed that "the course of the talks was good, and there are some other issues that are on the table," expressing his "thanks to the role that Iraq plays in this field."
