    The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, separately received Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, discussed the situation of Iraqi refugees in Europe.
    A presidential statement stated, "Saleh received the Luxembourg Foreign Minister, and during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, in addition to discussing joint cooperation between Iraq and the European Union, referring to the distinguished relationship between the two sides, and discussing the situation of Iraqi refugees and residents in Luxembourg and Europe." And the issue of the displaced inside Iraq, especially the Yazidis.”
    He added, "The developments in the humanitarian situation of the ongoing military events in Ukraine and the large wave of displaced people they have left, in addition to the dangerous economic repercussions on the whole world, including Iraq, were also discussed," explaining that "the necessity of reliance on dialogue and refusing to use force and violence in resolving disputes was also discussed." and prevent its aggravation and threat to international peace and security.”
    For his part, Asselborn affirmed, "his country stands by Iraq, supports its security and stability, and looks forward to strengthening bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two countries at various levels," expressing "his country's readiness to work with Iraq to encourage investment activity that supports economic development, and provides job opportunities, stressing His quest to remove obstacles to the work of Iraqi Airways in European airports.
    Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi discussed, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
    A statement from his office stated that "the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Luxembourg, as well as with the whole of the European Union."
    Al-Kazemi explained, "Iraq is continuing to strengthen the partnership with Luxembourg and Europe in the war on terrorism, and institutional cooperation in various areas, the most important of which are combating corruption, reforming the banking sector, and developing dependence on clean energy."
    The statement added, "The meeting witnessed a discussion of the situation on the international scene, the need to seek peaceful solutions to the ongoing conflicts, and Iraq's standing by everything that would spare peoples the suffering of conflicts, and the effects of wars and their disasters on civilians."
    In addition, Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein confirmed, yesterday, Tuesday, that the Luxembourg Foreign Minister promised to approach the European Union to remove sanctions on Iraqi Airways.
    Hussein said, during a press conference with Luxembourg's Foreign Minister, that he "discussed with his counterpart in Luxembourg regarding lifting the sanctions imposed by the European Union on Iraqi Airways," noting that "Anselbon promised to lift these sanctions."
    He added, "The two sides also discussed the issue of immigration to Europe and the war in Ukraine," stressing that "stopping the war in Ukraine requires intensive efforts from the international community."
