The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mr. Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, discussed with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ali Riza Konai, the prospects for future cooperation in various industrial fields, especially in the field of establishing and developing industrial cities projects in Iraq.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister referred to the strong relations and ties between Iraq and Turkey and the importance of working to consolidate these relations and expand opportunities for cooperation and joint work in all fields and levels, stressing the government's and the ministry's orientation towards building industrial cities throughout the governorates of Iraq to establish promising projects and factories in various industries to achieve industrial progress and providing the country’s needs, pointing out at the same time that the ministry has taken important steps in establishing industrial cities in the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar and Anbar and proceeding with procedures and plans to establish industrial cities in other governorates, including Nineveh governorate, expressing the desire and readiness to open new horizons for work and crystallize a joint formula with Turkey for future cooperation It brings economic benefits to both countries.
In turn, the Turkish ambassador affirmed the desire and keenness of his country's government to strengthen relations and cooperation with Iraq in various industrial fields and to establish promising projects that serve the two neighboring countries.
