    Economy News - Special
The Ministry of Agriculture called on the Prime Minister's Office to take urgent measures to prevent the leakage of 52 agricultural materials, which were decided to ban their circulation in the local markets.
According to documents obtained by "Economy News", the prohibited items include table eggs, dates, live and frozen chicken, tobacco, palm seedlings, honey, onions, frozen and refrigerated river and marine fish, as well as onions, beans, urea fertilizer, buffaloes, sheep and others .
And the Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad Karim Ali, stressed, according to the official document issued on April 6, 2022, not to allow the movement of loads of these materials from the Kurdistan region to the rest of the provinces, regardless of the documents that accompany them .
The minister called on the National Operations Center, which is affiliated to the Prime Minister's Office, to direct the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures to prevent leakages from them to the local markets .
It is noteworthy that the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers decided yesterday, Wednesday, to open the import doors for imported agricultural products for a period of 3 months, in an attempt to control the rise in prices .
For its part, the Kurdistan Regional Government has taken a similar measure, but for a period of only two months, as the Iraqi market has witnessed a sharp rise in the prices of food and construction materials in general for several months.
