Shafaq News/ Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi emphasized, on Thursday, the diagnosis of the intellectual and economic motives that fuel the takfiri groups in order to be able to eliminate them.
Al-Kazemi's media office stated, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the latter received in his office in Baghdad today, Australian Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism Roger Noble, in the presence of the Australian Ambassador to Iraq Paula Elizabeth Ganley, and during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of developing security cooperation, Especially in the areas of combating terrorism, and strengthening the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.
Al-Kazemi stressed the need to combat terrorism from its roots and monitor the premises of its existence, by identifying the intellectual and economic causes of the phenomenon of takfiri armed groups, and confronting them through the mechanisms of good governance and social development.
He pointed out the importance of "social solidarity and the continued readiness of our heroic security forces contributed to thwarting the continuous attempts of ISIS terrorist gangs to target Iraqis."
For his part, the Australian Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism Affairs congratulated the Iraqi government on its "continuous successes in combating terrorism, whether on Iraqi soil or through the external intelligence effort," stressing his government's support for Iraq and looking forward to more security cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of Iraq's regional role, and its positive effects in achieving stability in Iraq and the region.
