    Information/Baghdad...
The representative of Basra Governorate, Zahra Al-Bajari, confirmed on Thursday that the central government had declared war on the central and southern regions by insisting on closing border crossings in light of a significant increase in local markets.

Al-Bajari said in a televised interview, which was followed by the "Information" agency, that "the closure of border crossings and the rise in food prices come in light of the lack of encouragement and development of the local product."
She pointed out that "the rise in food and vegetable prices and the closure of outlets caused great popular discontent in the central and southern governorates."
Al-Bajari called for “finding a well-studied plan to support the local product, away from the decision to close the border crossings, which negatively affected the citizen.” End/25
