The Ministry of Education noted that disrupting school hours falls within the powers of local administrations in the governorates, and denied any intention to limit education to e-learning.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Haider Farouk Al-Saadoun, said: "The ministry does not have the authority to suspend school hours, and a central holiday has not been set by it, because that is the prerogative of local governments in the governorates."
He pointed out, "Continuing to complete the curriculum for the second semester of the current year 2021-2022 in the manner of blended education (attendance with electronic), and the Ministry has no intention to limit it to electronic only." Al-Saadoun pointed out that "the ministry is facing a malicious campaign of rumors regarding attendance or curricula aimed at influencing the course of the educational process," calling on "students to obtain accurate information from the ministry's official sources exclusively."
