Wait for the decision to raise black oil prices and discuss it in a joint meeting

Yesterday, Sunday, the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, announced the delay in the decision to raise the prices of black oil, stressing his intention to hold a joint meeting with government agencies to discuss the issue.
The Ministry of Oil raised the price of one liter of black oil from 100 dinars to 350 dinars, which angered the owners of factories, especially cement, from which the country is achieving self-sufficiency.
This decision led to demonstrations in front of the Al-Darwa refinery in Baghdad to demand its abolition, forcing the security forces to close the two-story bridge linking the Karrada area.
A statement by the Office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and received by (Al-Mada), stated that “the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, met yesterday with a group of demonstrators, workers, and factory owners in front of the Dora refinery in Baghdad.”
The statement added, "The demonstrators came from various governorates to protest against the Ministry of Oil's decision to raise fuel prices."
He pointed out that "Al-Zamili confirmed that the Oil Ministry's decision to raise fuel prices and its coincidence with the high prices of foodstuffs and vegetables negatively affected the lives of citizens and burdened them, and led to a significant increase in unemployment rates due to the suspension of factories, and stressed the need to reach thoughtful solutions that satisfy the citizen and factory owners." It eases the state of popular tension.”
The statement stated that "Al-Zamili made a phone call during his meeting with the demonstrators with Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, to convey all the protesters' demands."
The statement went on, “to wait for the decision to increase fuel prices, and to agree to hold a joint meeting soon in the House of Representatives between the Minister of Oil and representatives of the demonstrators, in the presence of Al-Zamili, to find radical and urgent solutions to end this problem.”
For its part, the Oil Derivatives Company issued a press release received by Al-Mada regarding the increase in the prices of petroleum products.
The statement stated, "We would like to explain to the public opinion and those interested the facts of the matter for the decision to partially increase (black oil) fuel, which some satellite channels, the affected parties and those who trade in black oil fuel are trying to mix papers about it and distort the facts to serve their interests."
The statement continued, "The decision to increase the prices of gas oil (black oil) fuel supplied to asphalt factories and plants does not mean canceling government support for them."
He pointed out, "to maintain a support ratio of more than (70%) with the new prices," noting that "the new price supplied of black oil for asphalt plants constitutes only (30%) of the price of one ton in global markets, According to the approved bulletin.
The statement denied, "any new increase in the prices of fuel gas (kerosene) for residential generators," stressing that "there are still prices for this segment that provides direct services to citizens."
And he added, "Price changes in the global oil market push the government oil sector to equalize prices between inside and outside to limit smuggling operations."
The statement called on "the media and satellite channels to support their reports with accurate information, and not to be satisfied with the terms (confirmed by experts and among experts) without knowing who confirmed and who indicated and what are the limits of his understanding of the subject."
The statement concluded by "reserving the company's legal right against any party that attempts to prejudice economic security and harm the public interest, and to firmly confront all attempts that offend the company's employees."
In turn, the independent MP Hadi Al-Salami warned against laying off thousands of workers and stopping most of the factories in the country, due to the decision of the Ministry of Oil to raise the price of black oil supplied to public and private sector factories, while stressing that this decision will raise the number of the unemployed and eliminate the Iraqi industry in a way Full.
Representative Al-Salami said in a statement issued by his media office, received by Al-Mada, that “this decision contributed to raising the prices of many commodities whose production is related to black oil, which burdens the citizen and ends the chances of competition with the importer, as well as raises the prices of products and closes most factories.” Surprising at the same time, "from the government's talk about supporting the Made in Iraq campaign, in light of the increase in fuel prices and the absence of support."
Al-Salami warned against “the layoffs of thousands of workers and the suspension of most governmental and private factories, most notably the General Company for Southern Cement of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, because of this decision, which will destroy the economy and increase unemployment rates.”
Al-Salami revealed that “an inquiry was submitted to the Ministry of Oil to find out the reason for raising the price of black oil supplied to private sector factories and companies,” and promised that “this unjust decision will threaten investment experiences in the country.”
