Earth News/ The academic and economist, Amjad Lafta, said today, Monday, that Iraq urgently needs a vote by its parliament on the “emergency support for food security” bill, which will provide 36 percent of the country’s needs.
Lafta added in a statement to "Earth News" that "this law will include about 11 trillion dinars, and this value is sufficient to secure 36 percent of Iraq's food need," adding that "this mechanism, if approved, will play an important role in organizing Purchasing the country’s strategic food storage.
The expert stressed “the necessity of involving the private sector in this matter,” indicating at the same time “a great departure by the government and parliament from the issue of socialism in the administration and the trend towards totalitarianism only,” stressing that “the private sector has important and significant relationships with international companies to secure vocabulary.” Food security and assistance to the Ministry of Commerce.
