    The Information/Baghdad:
Oil expert Hamza Al-Jawahiri revealed, on Thursday, corruption cases in the Basra-Aqaba pipeline project, which the government intends to undertake, pointing to the security risks surrounding the route taken by the pipeline.
Al-Jawahiri said, in a statement reported by the official “Al-Sabah” newspaper, which was seen by “The Information”, that “the project was announced with a value of 28 billion dollars, and then it became 18 billion dollars, and now the amount has been reduced to 9 billion dollars, and this is evidence of the corruption issues that mar the project. “.
Al-Jawahiri added, “This is on the one hand, the amounts, and on the other hand, it includes the establishment of a petrochemical plant and refinery in Aqaba, but the government did not clarify that the value of the oil through which the factory and refinery are built will be paid for by the investing company or given free of charge,” wondering, “If The refinery and factory are Iraqis, why is it being established in Jordan and not in Iraq?”
He pointed to the security risks surrounding the route that the pipeline takes through “Wadi Houran”, which is one of the dangerous hideouts of the criminal “ISIS” organization and is one of the unsecured places to this day, noting that “the Gulf Corridor is safe as an exit for oil in the world and is considered a cornerstone of the global economy, and that No party can harm it in any way, and the Strait of Hormuz is also not and will not be closed, so why do we go to a port with all these risks and concessions!!?” finished/25 d
