    Said the New York Times, The attempts to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to stay in power had collapsed, pointing out that all of his friends at home and abroad without him.

    The paper alluded to the discussions that take place in Baghdad on al-Maliki's demands, which include lack of trial and to ensure his safety, in addition to its demand to obtain the position by the former president to step down.

    The newspaper noted that the change came after several attempts of al-Maliki to win support for survival, but, according to the newspaper, all official delegations met by al-Maliki last Monday evening asked him to waive and give priority to the interest of the nation, pointing out that all of his political party and Iran indicated that they would not support him for a long time.

    The newspaper added, the next morning, he arrived a senior general in the Iraqi army to the headquarters of the new Iraqi president Fuad Masum, along with Haider al-Abadi, who was supported in al-Maliki to succeed in the presidency of Ministers.

    The newspaper quoted the general as saying that the Iraqi army will not stand idly toward al-Maliki.

    The newspaper said, hours after meeting Iraqi general with the new president, realized the size of the al-Maliki faces growing opposition, and that the army will not be supported in any case.

    She added, Maliki's office issued a statement calling for the army to stay away from politics and stay vigilant for the protection of the state, pointing out that his message to the people and politicians and his men to justice.

    The newspaper quoted the official Iranian news agency to congratulate the Secretary of the Supreme Council for National Security of Iran's new prime minister, pointing out that the Iranian foreign minister in turn, expressed his support for al-Abadi.

    The newspaper pointed out that the position of Ayatollah Ali Sistani, the Iraqi Shiite leader was also a supporter of the Iranian position, pointing out that the political paralysis afflicting Baghdad under Daash Ali seized control of much of the territory of Iraq.

    The newspaper said the administration of President Barack Obama sent a congratulation to the new prime minister and asked him to address the political problems that bothered a lot of Sunni and Kurdish minorities in Iraq, pointing out that the United States will support the government, which will be followed by al-Maliki, militarily and politically.

    She said that al-Maliki agreed to support al-Abbadi, after he realized that all his friends had turned to the other camp, pointing out that this method is the only way to save face in light of a statement by a member of his team that he will support Abadi to maintain the Shiite alliance in addition to a statement by a member of militants Badr belonging to Iran that they will stand next to Abadi.

    The newspaper quoted a friend of the new prime minister as saying that al-Maliki did not bring us nothing but destruction, pointing out that the blast, which happened next to the house Abadi and killed many of his friends was in response to his responsibility.

    The newspaper reported that al-Abadi tried to mitigate the wrath of al-Maliki, where he was offered to join the new government, calling Prime Minister outgoing, pointing out that he pointed out that al-Maliki will remain in office until a new government is formed within 30 days.
