Earth News/ The Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers held its regular session today, Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, and took several decisions.
According to a statement by the Council and received by Earth News, that: At the beginning of the meeting’s agenda, the Prime Minister briefed the official visit of the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation to Britain and received him at a high level, in addition to his meetings with the British Prime Minister, and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and Defense , energy, business, education, health and a number of other senior officials.
The Prime Minister indicated that "the Prime Minister and senior British officials expressed, in all meetings and meetings, their readiness to improve relations, support and coordination with the Kurdistan Region in various fields."

In this regard, the Council of Ministers directed the ministries, according to their terms of reference, to “follow up the necessary files on the official visit to Britain, and on the basis of that, the Cabinet Secretariat, the Foreign Relations Department and the Coordination and Follow-up Department were assigned to coordinate between the ministries and take advantage of all forms of opportunities that were made available.” to the Kurdistan Region as a result of the visit.”
The statement continued, "In the second paragraph of the meeting's agenda, a draft law (the Accreditation Authority for Institutions and Curricula of Education and Higher Education in the Kurdistan Region) was presented, which aims to set appropriate standards for the accreditation of educational and educational institutions through an independent body that will not replace ministries, but will be Supporting the ministries’ work in conforming to accreditation standards with international standards in order to ensure high academic and scientific quality by organizing practical mechanisms for granting accreditations, supporting the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, enhancing human capacities and developing educational programs in the region.

He indicated that after discussions and deliberations, the Council of Ministers decided to “review the draft law in light of the observations made, and prepare it for a vote on it at the next meeting of the Council of Ministers before sending it to Parliament for legislation.”
In the second paragraph of the agenda, the Council of Ministers highlighted “a report presented by the Minister of Electricity Kamal Saleh regarding the situation of electricity in the Kurdistan region in terms of progress, obstacles, and the proposals of the Ministry of Electricity put forward to improve the electrical service and electricity projects, especially with the approach of the summer season.”
The statement added, "The report included the total electric energy produced in megawatts at production and distribution stations in cities, in addition to the hours of preparation for citizens and projects of the Ministry of Electricity to increase energy production. In conclusion, the report presented the obstacles facing the ministry, along with a number of proposals to address them.
The Cabinet instructed the ministries of natural resources, planning, finance and economy, and agriculture and water resources, “to conduct the necessary coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity to develop and enhance electricity services.”
The statement concluded that “in the last paragraph of the meeting’s agenda, the Council of Ministers offered sincere congratulations with the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, and decided that the Eid holiday will be from next week, corresponding to 1-5-2022 until 5-5-2022, in departments and institutions Kurdistan Regional Government.
