    [size=45]Today, Wednesday, MP Ali Shaddad Al-Faris discussed with the Minister of Water Resources the file of water salinity and Basra’s water share during the upcoming summer season, in addition to agreeing on a set of issues related to ministerial projects in Basra Governorate and how to develop them.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Fares said that he met the Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, at the ministry’s headquarters in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and discussed with him the issue of reducing the effects of water salinity and its negative repercussions on Basra Governorate, as well as the importance of following up on local and ministerial projects related to the water side and how to secure Basra’s full water share. .[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Fares pointed out that “the Ministry of Water Resources has invited more than (30) specialized international companies to submit modern studies and designs for the navigation lock project in the Shatt Al-Arab to solve the problem of water salinity,” noting that “the coming period will witness the holding of several meetings between Basra representatives in Parliament and representatives from the Ministry of Water Resources to discuss and follow up on this issue.”[/size]
    [size=45] Al-Faris pointed out that “there are a number of outstanding problems in Basra Governorate, which are related to drilling unconditioned water wells, fines for farmers, stopping the legal measures taken against them and how to settle them, in addition to other issues that were discussed with the minister and a final agreement was reached to solve them according to prepared timetables.
