Parliament calls on the Iraqi government to activate a law that does justice to workers
Shafaq News/ Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, called on the federal government on Sunday to do justice to the workers and guarantee their legitimate rights.
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, Abdullah offered, "Congratulations and the most beautiful blessings to the working class throughout the country, and expressed his high appreciation for the workers who contributed to the maintenance of infrastructure over many years, and they still had an important role in reconstruction and prosperity and made great sacrifices in order to achieve stability." They have a great sense of belonging to the country."
The deputy head of the council said, "The federal government must do justice to this toiling group and guarantee their legitimate rights, and Labor Law No. (37) of 2015 must be activated, and celebrating Labor Day is a renewal of motivation and a true expression of the importance of work and the status of labor in society."
Abdullah also called on state institutions to support the working class and temporary wage earners, address obstacles and problems, apply justice, equality and equal opportunities, stressing the need to ensure a decent life for workers and their families, and to regulate the relationship between workers and employers on economic bases, taking into account the rules of social justice as stipulated in the provisions of the Constitution in Article (22)".
