Sinjar.. "Al-Yabsha" Arabs hand over their weapons to the Iraqi army

On Tuesday, a security source said that fighters from the Arab nationalism within the Sinjar Protection Units loyal to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) refused to fight against the Iraqi army in Sinjar district.
The source informed that "hundreds of these people laid down their weapons and handed them over to the Iraqi army, and left the ranks of the Sinjar Protection Units, after the past days witnessed clashes between the army and units loyal to the workers."
Sinjar district in Nineveh governorate is witnessing military operations between the Iraqi army and the “Yabisha” elements loyal to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides.
Forces loyal to the Labor Party refrain from implementing the Iraqi army’s decision to “evacuate the judiciary from all armed forces,” by keeping its members at security points among civilians.
On October 9, 2020, Baghdad and Erbil reached an agreement to normalize the situation in Sinjar, providing for the joint administration of the judiciary from the administrative, security and service aspects.
There are currently two local administrations for Sinjar, one of which was appointed by the federal government, and the second is the elected government, which conducts its business from the governorate of Dohuk.
The anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party has also formed a faction loyal to it there under the name "Sinjar Protection Units" and receives salaries from the Iraqi government as a faction under the umbrella of the Popular Mobilization.
