The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs works within a team that includes the Ministries of Interior, National Security and Education for the purpose of developing effective solutions to combat and reduce beggary.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Abeer Chalabi, said that the ministry has registered more than two million unemployed people in its database, and there are close numbers of unregistered unemployed, but the phenomenon of youth beggary is not caused by a lack of job opportunities, but is due to social reasons represented by family disintegration and the spread of family disintegration. Drugs, especially in poor areas and governorates, where most of their people resort to the capital to escape their difficult reality.”
