Shafaq News/ The representative of the "Al-Fateh" bloc, Ibtisam Al-Hilali, revealed on Wednesday the reason why a number of deputies combined the membership of two or more parliamentary committees, noting that a legal formula had been prepared in this regard.
Al-Hilali told Shafaq News Agency, "According to what was agreed upon in accordance with a legal formula voted by Parliament, which states that each deputy has the right to be a member of two parliamentary committees within schedules (B) and (C), and the deputy has no right in the committees of schedule (A). A) Sovereign committees: That he be a member of more than one committee.
She indicated that "according to the law, the number of members of the committee must be at least 17, and therefore some deputies became members of two committees," noting that "the committees of Schedule (C) are women and family, endowments, youth and sports, culture and tourism."
In this regard, the Media Department of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency, that the House voted to exclude the members of the committees below and allowed their membership in other parliamentary committees.
According to the statement, the committees are: women, family and childhood, endowments and clans, migration and displaced persons, community reconciliation, martyrs, victims and prisoners, youth and sports, culture, tourism, antiquities and media, and human rights.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives voted to complete the formation and nomination of members of the permanent parliamentary committees, which will begin holding their meetings next week.
