The Central Bank of Iraq's sales of hard currency to the dollar this week amounted to nearly one billion dollars.
The Central Bank sold during this week, from Sunday to Thursday, 977 million and 276 thousand and 710 dollars, at a rate of 195 million and 455 thousand and 342 dollars per day.
Most of these sales went in the form of remittances abroad to finance foreign trade, while the selling price of the dollar transferred to bank accounts abroad, in addition to cash sales, amounted to 1460 Iraqi dinars per dollar.
These sales within one week are equivalent to Iraqi oil exports for about 4 consecutive days, at a rate of more than 3 million barrels per day
