[rtl]The Director-General of the National Center for Water Resources Management, Hatem Hamid, said in a statement, "Given the importance of water and its role in food security, the Minister of Resources was hosted in the Finance Committee and a set of allocations were approved within the Food Security Law to ensure the continued implementation of vital projects for the coming period ."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The financial allocations support the continuation of vital sectors represented by the construction of the Makhoul dam and the project to deliver water through pipelines to Basra Governorate and other vital projects related to the rehabilitation and maintenance of dams and river irrigation, and the operation of projects and pumps for the water shortage file ."[/rtl]
[rtl]Regarding Iraq’s negotiations with the upstream countries and the demand again from Turkey to pump the agreed quantities of water, Hamid explained that “the last meeting of the Supreme Committee for Water headed by the Prime Minister yesterday issued several directives that serve the water and agricultural sectors, including directing official memoranda to the upstream countries with the support of Iraq during the coming period, especially And it is one of the countries affected by the water scarcity .[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "It is planned that a high-ranking guest from Turkey will go to Iraq within two weeks, headed by the official envoy of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to discuss the obstacles facing the water file ."[/rtl]
[rtl]With regard to Iran, he explained that "Iraq takes communication and dialogue with its neighbors as a way, because it is the shortest and best way to overcome water problems.
