The repercussions of the federal decision... Parliament's finances confirm: There is no solution before us

Today, Sunday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee considered that “there is no solution, no treatment, and no way out” from the existing crisis except by forming a new government with full powers, following the decision of the Federal Supreme Court to prevent the legislation of the Food Security Law and determine the powers of the current caretaker government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mustafa Sanad, said, “There is no remedy or way out for the emergency support law for food security, given that the Federal Court had in advance a decision that prevented the House of Representatives from proposing and sending bills, especially those that contain a financial aspect.”
He added, "As the food security law was challenged, the budget law and any proposed law that will be presented in the future will be challenged," stressing that "there is no solution before us except for a government with full powers to send laws to Parliament."
Sanad indicated that "the caretaker government cannot legislate laws according to the opinion of the Federal Court," noting that "there is great pressure to solve the problem of political blockage."
Sanad considered that "what happened today in stopping the procedures for legislating the emergency support law for food security and development will push the political forces towards resolving the crisis in the country."
And the Federal Supreme Court (the highest judicial authority in Iraq), decided earlier today, Sunday, to cancel the draft law on emergency support for food security and development, based on a lawsuit filed by Representative Basem Khashan.
On Sunday evening, the caretaker Prime Minister of Iraq, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, welcomed the federal decision, and indicated that his government would face “obstruction” in providing electricity and services to Iraqis.
The Iraqi parliament had suddenly announced the postponement of a session that was scheduled to be held yesterday, Saturday, to vote on the law, after making some amendments to its paragraphs, and adding other paragraphs.
