Today, Thursday, the Parliamentary Rights Movement saw the need for “partnership and consensus” to form a new government according to the largest parliamentary bloc, while the current government called for resorting to the principle of advances to cover expenses.
The head of the Parliamentary Rights Bloc, Hussein Hashem, said during a press conference held today at the parliament building and attended by a Khabar Press correspondent, that "despite the passage of more than seven months since the parliamentary elections, the new government has not yet seen the light of day due to the current political crisis and obstruction."
He added, "The Parliamentary Rights Bloc stresses on all political forces to work on concerted efforts, discard differences, close ranks, and present the interests of Iraq and its people first, away from personal interests and gains, and to make concessions for the public interest to work to end the state of political blockage and the current crisis."
Hashem called on all political forces and parties to sit around the dialogue table with a view to common understandings to reach the main goal and the supreme goal through partnership and consensus on forming the new government without excluding or marginalizing any component, stressing at the same time the formation of the largest parliamentary bloc according to the constitution and preserving Shiite component.
He pointed to the need to "work to complete the constitutional entitlements as soon as possible through consensus and understanding, especially between the Kurdish forces to nominate and elect the President of the Republic, which is the obstacle to choosing the prime minister, and then proceed with the formation of the government and work to send and legislate important laws, especially the general budget law."
And he stressed the need to “respect the decisions of the judiciary, the main pillar of the state, with faith and great confidence in the justice of the well-known Iraqi judiciary,” expressing his bloc’s rejection of any “compromising it because questioning its integrity paves the way for chaos and regarding what is related to the Food Security Law, which was canceled by the decision of the Federal Court in light of the delay in approving it.” Budget Law.
He called on the government "to resort to the principle of advances from the Ministry of Finance to cover the expenses of securing basic and necessary materials for the people without any legal and constitutional violation of the government's daily conduct of business."
