The candidate of the Al-Sadr and Al-Amiri alliances for the position of the new governor of Babylon will take over tomorrow
Shafaq News/ An informed political source revealed, on Saturday, an agreement between the "Al-Fateh" alliance led by the Secretary-General of "Badr" Organization Hadi al-Amiri, and the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr, that Ali Waad Allawi al-Dulaimi, director of the Babylon tax, will assume the position of head of the local government in this province.
The source told Shafak News Agency, that he who is the candidate of the current and the Fatah movement, will take over his position tomorrow, Sunday, and begin his work duties.
He explained that Allawi had obtained 7 signatures out of 17 signatures from members of the Iraqi parliament for the province of Babil.
He stressed that the deputies who signed Ali Allawi's nomination for the position of governor are the deputies of the Sadrist bloc, the Al-Fateh coalition, and two independent representatives.
A political source had reported earlier today, that the governor of Babylon had been relieved of his post.
The source informed; Shafak News Agency; The Prime Minister dismissed the governor of Babylon, Hassan Mandeel, from his position, while keeping him in the position of deputy governor.
A political source in the coordination framework revealed, on Sunday (May 1st), an agreement between several parliamentary blocs and independent deputies to remove the current governor of Babylon from his position and to choose a director general of one of the government departments in the province as his replacement.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, "The coordination framework, the Sadrist bloc, the (extension) movement and some independent deputies from Babylon agreed to nominate the director of the Babylon tax, Ali Waad Allawi, for the position of governor to succeed the current governor, Hassan Mandeel."
And he indicated that "according to the political agreement to form a local government for the province of Babylon, the position of the first deputy governor of the Sadrist bloc will be, while the position of the second deputy will be the share of the rule of law, provided that the framework and the Sadrists share the positions of advisors."
He added, "It was also agreed that the position of the director of Babylon's education will be for the rule of law, and the position of the director of the governorate's health will be retained for the Sadrist movement, while the position of the governorate police commander for the Al-Fateh alliance, and the position of the municipality of Hilla will be the share of the (extension) movement."
The source stressed that "the positions of directors of districts, districts and departments in the main departments will be shared between the Sadrist blocs, the coordination framework, the (extension) movement and some independent representatives."
It is noteworthy that the independent representatives of the province of Babil demanded months ago, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to dismiss the governor of Babylon, Hassan Mandeel, from his position, and several popular demonstrations also took place and raised the same demand, and these protests come on a handkerchief to accuse him of issues of financial corruption and mismanagement.
The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, had announced on several occasions and before the start of the steps to form the new government, that he rejects "consensus" with the coordination framework and the sharing of ministerial portfolios and government positions according to the quota system used in the formation of previous governments, describing this "consensus" as "like" Al-Attar's mixture", which he rejects as a context or system to be followed to form the government.
