The Security and Defense Committee decided, today, Monday, to submit the draft law on military service for its first reading.
The Media Department of the House of Representatives stated in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "the committee held a meeting headed by Representative Khaled Al-Obaidi, in the presence of the committee members, today, Monday, to discuss the topics on its agenda, and during the meeting held at the committee's headquarters, the draft science service law was discussed." As well as completing the discussion of the committee's rules of procedure.
The committee studied the proposed law to amend the Military Service and Retirement Law No. (3) of 2010 and Service and Retirement Internal Security No. (18) of 2011, in addition to studying the performance of internal and external controls and working to find effective solutions to them.
The committee discussed the nomination of one deputy from the committee members to the friendship committees according to the letter of the Foreign Relations Committee, as well as the study of the book of the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives for the Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee, which includes a working paper that defines the most important pillars of the security and defense policy for the next stage.
The committee discussed the grievance request of the people of the holy city of Kadhimiya submitted by the office of Representative Hassanein Al-Khafaji.
The committee decided to visit the headquarters of the joint operations to find effective solutions to the file of controls that are tainted by suspicions of corruption and work to correct mistakes in it and to be in the service of Iraq and its people, in addition to its decision to submit the draft law on the service of science for its first reading.
