The Parliament's Finance Committee identified today, Monday, three outputs for sending the 2022 federal budget to the parliament, stressing that the emergency support law is not a substitute for the budget because it has limited tasks.
Committee member Sattar al-Atabi said, "The emergency support law addresses the difficult situation the country is going through, but it cannot be a substitute for the general budget law."
He added, "There are necessary needs for the country, so the emergency support law is an outlet to meet the needs that are limited to providing the ration card requirements, paying the dues of farmers, buying wheat and rye from the inside and outside, as well as supporting the Ministry of Electricity to pay its debts, and we are at the gates of the hot summer."
He pointed out that "the House of Representatives deals with the government according to the constitution, and the current government cannot, according to the decision of the Federal Court, send any draft law."
And on the budget law, al-Atabi ruled out that “the House of Representatives goes to read the budget, unless a new government is formed or the Federal Court allows an emergency order, or the current government submits an appeal or petition to the Federal Court to obtain an exception to submit laws.” Ended 29 / h
