Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - The Swedish Ambassador to Iraq Jonas Lofven said that his country intends to strengthen trade relations and search for more investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region.
Lovin's statement came on Monday, during a visit he made to the Kurdistan Region Investment Commission at the head of a delegation, where he met with the Chairman of the Commission, Muhammad Shukri, to discuss the investment situation and ways to expand bilateral cooperation.
In a statement, Shoukry said that the Kurdistan Region seeks more foreign investments, stressing the readiness of the Kurdistan Regional Government to facilitate foreign investors to invest.
"We want to see Swedish investments in Kurdistan," he added.
In addition, the Swedish ambassador affirmed that his country has close relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, noting that Sweden is seeking to strengthen its trade and investment relations due to the stability witnessed in the region.
The ambassador also called on the Investment Authority in the region to provide investment opportunities in various sectors, noting that Swedish companies have good experience in the sectors of industry, transport, health, education and agricultural technology.
As part of efforts to expand cooperation between Erbil and Stockholm, Swedish investors will visit the Kurdistan Region, and an investment delegation from the Kurdistan Region will visit Sweden.
